The English Schools Football Association is the national governing body for all schools football and has been delivering inter school and representative competition for over 100 years. E.S.F.A. has the the remit from the Football Association and Department of Education to provide a comprehensive competition structure based around the National Competition Framework.
The 418 District Schools' Football Associations (which include Swindon Primary Schools Football Association) have sole responsibility to manage the local competitive football between schools and provide for local representative teams.
E.S.F.A. organise 3 competitions (relevant to primary age range pupils) to which affiliated district football associations may enter. These are:-
Swindon P.S.F.A. organises the district heats of these competitions. The winners qualify for the County Finals which are organised by the Wiltshire County Schools Football Association.
